1- Description of the profession, the competencies required for the labor market and the required skills:

1- Description of professions: (which the graduate will practice upon graduation from vocational education and training institutions)

Graphic designers work in designing logos, certificates and publications, posters, book covers, magazines, brochures, product covers, advertising campaigns, and banners, using computer design programs, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, and In Design. They also use AutoCAD, and produce plans using Photoshop.
They work by studying reality, working on the initial design, adding design elements, entering the design on the computer, using graphic objects, adding effects, colors, and necessary dimensions, and preparing the material in its final form.

2- The competencies required to perform these tasks: (The competencies and skills that are trained in vocational education and training institutions to be able to practice the profession according to the description above)

To perform the previous tasks, the graphic designer needs to obtain the competencies of knowledge, skills and trends necessary for that, starting from general competencies in the field of design, colors and printing, to specialized competencies in the field of designing book covers, magazines, logos, brochures, product covers, advertising campaigns and banners, to mastering computer work skills and mastering the use of computer design programs, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw, In Design and related programs such as AutoCAD.
And knowledge of the tools and equipment used, general safety procedures and English language skills, especially those related to the profession and reviewing the related catalogs By profession, and the skills of using computer programs specialized in the field of graphic design and modern technology skills needed by the labor market, and the necessary life skills and character building necessary to carry out the required tasks, and the competencies that enable him to carry out the work mentioned in the description of the profession (which are the qualifications required for the labor market, and he acquires these skills and competencies through education and vocational training that they obtain in vocational education and training institutions.

2- Work environment, workplaces and the possibility of professional development:

2- Professional development:
The possibility of starting as an assistant designer after graduation, and the period varies according to previous experience and the ability to develop, and then work as a graphic designer. It is also possible for his/her work to develop over time to become a specialized graphic designer with experience. In medium and large offices, it is possible to develop to work as a supervisor of designers, and many graphic designers create their own work. Income develops and multiplies according to development, gaining experience and demonstrating the ability to develop, and this is what distinguishes a graduate of a vocational education and training institution from someone who joins the labor market without a profession.
In addition, income and employment are linked to the general economic situation, but statistics showed a high ability for vocational graduates to find work or open their own business.

3-Qualification for the profession: (training locations, forms, admission requirements, and the possibility of completing education)

Some of the above centers provide internal housing for students from outside the governorate. It also provides short courses for workers in the profession.

2- Admission requirements

  • Vary according to the Vocational Education and Training Institution
  • Most of them focus on students who have completed the basic stage of education (tenth grade) and are between the ages of 16-20 years.

There are short courses on demand in these centers to develop the skills of workers in the profession and the unemployed or according to the target group.

3- Possibility of completing education

  • Industrial schools that train through the applied or industrial guidance system
  • Vocational training centers that can hold courses that qualify students to apply for the guidance

Those who have completed the vocational guidance can complete their education in colleges and applied universities. Those who have not completed the vocational guidance through their institution can apply for it through private study two years after graduation and work in the profession (some institutions hold qualifying courses to apply for the exam). However, the certificate obtained from these centers qualifies its holder to work as a professional in the labor market without the need to complete his/her studies.
