Nevin Khader... Success Knows No Gender Limits

Nevin Omar Mustafa Khader, a graduate from the Ceramics and Handicrafts department of the Vocational Training Program by the Lutheran World Federation in Beit Hanina, resides in Shuafat camp. At 41 years old, married and a mother of three, she completed her academic education at Ateed Biran College with a diploma in Executive Secretarial. She later joined the Ceramics department at the Lutheran Federation in 2020-2021 and graduated with distinction, being the top student in her class.

Nevin initially benefited from a course offered by the center in "Arabic Calligraphy." After completing the course, she joined the Ceramics department. Initially feeling fear and challenges, with full support from the training staff, she gradually gained technical skills, life skills, and experiences, becoming proficient in the field.

Facing challenges such as attending classes three days a week as a mother with other commitments, along with health issues like migraines, disc problems, and colitis, did not deter Nevin. She overcame these challenges with determination, excelling in her profession. Starting with zero financial resources, her income gradually increased. Besides ceramics, she mastered henna art, adding another skill acquired from the Ceramics department.

Nevin became an active and productive woman in society, participating in various projects and exhibitions to showcase her products. She established a Facebook page for her products and used various social media platforms to reach a larger audience. Nevin became more aware of the market and realized that ceramics is an essential and enduring profession that everyone should recognize, especially the current generation.

The center, through the Alumni Unit, supported Nevin by connecting her to the "Tadarab Project," funded by the European Union. She also benefited from the business incubator opened about five years ago, providing technical, advisory, and production assistance to graduates. Nevin expresses gratitude to those providing such opportunities, especially for women, and looks forward to a more successful future.
