The realistic vision for the association's work over the next three years:

The Al-Amal Association for the Deaf aims to become a pioneering association over the next three years, based on professional foundations in activating productive, sports, educational, awareness, social, and women's programs aimed at serving the deaf and unleashing their developmental potentials, and enhancing their engagement in society by achieving greater community recognition of their role in this field. The association also seeks to build its administrative and current capacities in advocacy, mobilization, and networking, enabling it to achieve this vision.

Association's objectives:

The association strives diligently to achieve the goals for which it was established, and among the most important of these goals are:

  • Integration of the deaf into society and achieving recognition for them.
  • Access to inclusive education for the deaf from school to university.
  • Developing vocational rehabilitation for the deaf and their employment
  • Developing sports for the deaf in all fields and forming sports teams.
  • Empowering deaf women and expanding the opportunities available to them.
  • Developing administrative and financial capacities that enable her to perform the required roles.
  • Advocacy, mobilization, and networking within and outside the country for the rights of the deaf in Palestine.
  • Serving the local community in general.

The decision to open the Al-Amal Center for Technical Education and Vocational Training for the age group of 15 years and above for young males and females was made after conducting a study and holding workshops for members of the general authority and institutions working with community organizations, as part of the strategic plan and priority setting. I found it important to establish a vocational training center project for the youth category, as there is no similar vocational training available that includes the provided services.

The idea was in 2003 when a piece of land was obtained from the Land Authority of the Palestinian National Authority in the village of Nabi Elias, near the city of Qalqilya.

The vocational center welcomes deaf, hearing, and special needs students with the aim of developing their ideas, integrating them into the job market, and classifying them within institutions and employers to enable them to work, reduce unemployment rates, and enhance their skills.

Our Mission:

Founded in 2005, our target demographic is individuals aged 15 and above, both male and female. Our aim is to create skilled professional cadres through vocational training, integrate the deaf into the local community, create job opportunities, and reduce unemployment and poverty among the deaf and their families. And working on implementing and establishing small projects for the graduates of the vocational center.

Objectives of the Professional Center

  • Technical education, vocational training, and courses in various specializations target the youth.
  • Creating highly skilled technical professionals to become productive members of society rather than a burden.
  • Supplying the local market with trained professional and technical staff.
  • Reducing the high unemployment rate among the youth.
  • Integrating people with special needs into society and developing their abilities.
  • Assisting in the implementation of small projects for graduates.
