Vocational Training Center - Ramallah


Brief of institution :

YWCA in Ramallah is a national women association. It was founded in 1918. YWCA works with women to develop their capacities and empower them to be independent and participate in the decision-making process. Also, YWCA seeks to provide women with opportunities to realize their feminist perspective to be factor in the society’s development and progress. YWCA also works with children and young people through different programs that ensure justice, equality, liberty, and respect for people and the environment.YWCA programs include diploma in vocational education and training in office management. This programs aims to ensure economic empowerment for young people. Other YWCA programs include employment programs that seek to ensure economic empowerment for women, event management, clients’ relations management program, and IT development.

Vocational training program

According to the main pillars on which the vision and mission of the association are based, the vocational training program is the fundamental structure for women's economic empowerment. Through this program, the Young Women's Christian Association / Ramallah works on honing the life, scientific, and practical skills of its students to become independent individuals with competencies that meet the requirements of the Palestinian market. Every year, preparations are made for the employment day, which provides job opportunities in various public, private, and non-profit institutions, with approximately 50 institutions and around 250 graduates participating.

It is worth mentioning that the first specialization offered by the Vocational Training Center in Palestine, a diploma in Software Systems (IT), was launched with the help of specialized international experts to meet market needs, and 21 students have enrolled in this two-year program.

Objectives of the Vocational Training Center

  • Providing a foundation of professional knowledge and skills for entering the job market for all ages.
  • Providing long-term education to enhance professional and technical knowledge and skills, and to create new skills that align with the developments in the job market.
  • Applying the concept of learning through work.
