The University Graduate Union seeks to improve the educational and technical levels of the Palestinian society in different potential ways and methods and in line with the mission of the Palestine Polytechnic and to meet the shifting demands of the Palestinian society. Hence, the Continuing Education Department was created in 1989 to deliver diverse and flexible educational and training programs utilizing academic and technical competencies available in the local market. 

Department’s vision:
Create a leading and approved reference for capacity building and development of vocational and technical skills in order to contribute to creating an industrious society based on sound professional and technological grounds.   

Department’s mission:
Meet the demands of the Palestinian society with respect to training, rehabilitation, and capacity building through conducting required studies and conducting specialized and distinguished vocational training programs. Consequently, the programs would meet the needs of the various sectors of the society. 

Center's Vision: A leading and nationally accredited reference in the field of training, capacity-building activities, intervention in self-employment and entrepreneurship, and career guidance to enhance economic empowerment opportunities for the Palestinian community at the individual and institutional levels.

Center's Mission: To provide a range of services, activities, and developmental interventions in various sectors and fields. These contribute to economically and socially empowering targeted groups in terms of capacity building, vocational and technical training, career guidance, business development, incubating innovative projects, and establishing startup companies. The aim is to create income-generating opportunities, enhance resilience, improve living standards, and regulate poverty and unemployment rates in Palestinian society. The center strives to meet the growing needs of the community through effective partnerships with the public and private sectors, associations, unions, international organizations, and others. The center operates through tools that promote justice, equality, lifelong learning, seizing opportunities, creative thinking, quality education, and sustainable development to achieve sustainable development goals.

Center's Objectives:

• Economic and social empowerment by promoting employment and self-employment opportunities for the targeted groups.
• Human development and individual capacity-building through education, training, and qualification services in various fields.
• Meeting the needs of society and providing the labor market with qualified and trained workforce in various fields.
• Effective partnerships with various economic sectors, including the public and private sectors and civil institutions.
• Contributing to guiding youth in choosing future careers through career guidance programs.
• Promoting a culture of lifelong learning, social responsibility, quality, excellence, and sustainable development.

Specialized Vocational Diploma Programs and Annual Programs (Long-term): The Center for Excellence and Continuous Education offers over 35 specialized vocational diploma programs (lasting a full academic year) in various fields of vocational and technical education and training. These programs are accredited and licensed by Palestinian official authorities. Some examples include 3D printing and electronic design, goldsmithing and jewelry crafting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, industrial automation, modern automotive technology, electrical installations, machining and welding, surveying and geographic information systems, interior decoration and design, graphic design, computerized accounting, customs clearance, and more.

Individual and Institutional Training and Capacity Building Programs (Short and Medium-term): The Center offers dozens of specialized training programs in various fields to meet the needs of individuals and institutions in the labor market. These include vocational and technical training, administrative skills, language skills, various software programs, life and personal skills, entrepreneurial skills, and more.

Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment Programs: As part of its self-employment and entrepreneurship services, the Center for Excellence and Continuous Education, through the Entrepreneurial Business Incubator at Palestine Polytechnic University, has a wealth of experience dating back to 2004. This experience has been built and grown through a series of developmental and improvement projects aimed at supporting entrepreneurs. The center collaborates with a network of local and international donors, humanitarian and community organizations, providing programs that include entrepreneurship training, incubation of entrepreneurial projects, counseling and follow-up services, seed grants funded by international organizations, business acceleration services, and networking services with investors to support startup companies.

Developmental and Improvement Projects: The Center for Excellence and Continuous Education has implemented a diverse mix of developmental projects and initiatives with various institutions and organizations. Some of these include programs with the United Nations Development Programme, Belgian Technical Cooperation Foundation, German Technical Cooperation Foundation, Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation, ActionAid, Cooperation Foundation, Islamic Development Bank, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and others. These projects aim to enhance educational and training infrastructure, curriculum development, trainer training, updating and developing workshops and laboratories, providing capacity-building services, and supporting business incubator programs, career guidance, and paid training.

Other Activities and Interventions: In addition to the above, the Center for Excellence and Continuous Education grants certificates and conducts exams accredited by regional and international organizations. Examples include network and information security training (Cisco Academy at Palestine Polytechnic University), English language training (TOEFL), and more.
