Electricity, winding of transformers and engines and mechanical control/ industrial automation, and electrical installations
Electricity, winding of transformers and engines and mechanical control/ industrial automation, and electrical installations

1- Description of the profession, the competencies required for the labor market and the required skills:

1- Description of the profession: (which the graduate will practice upon graduation from vocational education and training institutions)
The activities of professionals working in professions related to the specializations of general electricity, winding transformers, motors, automatic control, industrial automation, and electrical extensions are different and varied, as they include industrial extensions, installation, operation, and maintenance of various industrial machines, as well as winding motors and engines, installation, operation, and maintenance of control panels and devices, as well as in the field of manufacturing and marketing them. The professions in which graduates of these specializations work include some or all of the following professions:

Industrial extensions:Works alone or under the supervision of an electrician, electrical extensions / general, reads the executive plans for industrial extensions, provides work materials according to quantities and specifications, prepares and installs pipes and channels for industrial extensions of various types, implements and maintains industrial electrical extensions, implements and maintains electrical circuits for main and sub-panels, implements external and internal lighting circuits, grounds industrial extensions, installs, connects and operates machine switches, inspects electrical extensions using inspection and measurement devices, and applies occupational safety and health procedures and instructions

Industrial machinery maintenance:Reads the executive plans for industrial machinery operating systems, provides work materials according to quantities and specifications, and installs maintenance workshop equipment

Electrician / Electrical Machine Winding: Works under the supervision of an electrician / general machine and switch maintenance and installation technician, installs and operates electrical machine maintenance equipment, implements maintenance programs for it, reads electrical machine coils and connections, disassembles the electrical machine into its parts and removes damaged coils, manually rewinds electrical machines, inspects the electrical machine after the winding process, fills out work forms, and applies occupational safety and health procedures and instructions.

Protection and Control Devices Professional: Works under the supervision of an electrical technician / electrical protection systems and reads the executive plans for protection systems and counting and measuring devices, and installs protection device operator equipment And operate them and implement preventive maintenance programs for them, and provide work materials according to quantities and specifications. And install, inspect and maintain these systems according to instructions, and document and monitor the reading of counting and measuring devices, and adjust the anchors of protection devices according to the instructions and established values, and implement occupational safety and health procedures and instructions.

2- The competencies required to perform these tasks: (The competencies and skills that are trained in vocational education and training institutions to be able to practice the profession according to the description above)
To perform the previous tasks, electricians in the previous professions need the competencies of knowledge, skills and necessary trends, starting from general competencies in the field of familiarity with the principles of electricity, electronics and mechanics to specialized competencies in the field of industrial electrical extensions, and the field of industrial machinery maintenance so that they are able to master the use of single and three-phase electric generators, and deal with cables and wires that carry current and main and sub-switches and legacy Leakage, 3-phase motors and meters, 3-phase manual winding switches, 3-phase panel, 3-phase transformers, motors and motor winding and electric elevators, and the ability to deal with engineering plans by determining the locations of electrical distribution points, lighting points, outlets and locations of central panels For switches and others. It also identifies power electronics, optical, thermal and digital electronics, and programmable logic control (PLC), and knows its parts, circuits and uses, and masters the skills of following electrical and mechanical executive diagrams and working according to them, as well as masters the skills of building and examining electronic circuits and using different circuits in installation and maintenance. It also masters specialized skills in the field of diagnosis and calibration. Masters the skill of installing and maintaining motors, generators and their parts, winding transformers and motors, and masters the skill of installing and maintaining various industrial machines, as well as knowing control systems and dealing with switches and sensors and using them, and masters the skill of installing, maintaining and using them when necessary. And learns about programmable logic control, masters its programming and knows its industrial applications. Possessing knowledge of measuring and inspection devices, tools and equipment used and general safety procedures, in addition to acquiring English language skills, especially those related to the profession, and reviewing catalogs related to the profession, and acquiring skills of using computer programs specialized in maintenance work. He also needs the necessary life skills such as communication skills, dealing with customers, and the competencies that enable him to perform the necessary work for the profession (which are the qualifications required for the labor market), in addition to mastering the modern technology skills that the labor market needs.

2- Work environment, workplaces and the possibility of professional development:

2- Workplaces

  • Various factories of small, medium and large sizes
  • Maintenance workshops affiliated with agencies and medium and large companies
  • Exhibitions and stores selling electronic devices and control panels
  • Workshops for manufacturing control panels and winding and maintaining motors and transformers
  • Companies supplying and selling industrial machines

2- Professional development:
The possibility of starting as a professional assistant after graduation, even though the period varies according to previous experience and the ability to develop, and then work as a professional, and it is possible for his/her work to develop over time to become a specialist with experience in the field, and in medium and large workshops it is possible to develop to work as a supervisor of workers in the field, and many technicians create their own work. Income develops and multiplies according to development, gaining experience and demonstrating the ability to develop, and this is what distinguishes a graduate of a vocational education and training institution from someone who joins the labor market without a profession.
Vocational graduate
In addition, income and employment are linked to the general economic situation, but statistics showed a high ability for vocational graduates to find work or open their own business.

3-Qualification for the profession: (training locations, forms, admission requirements, and the possibility of completing education)

1- Vocational training locations:

Middle East Council of Churches / Gaza General Electricity, Transformer Winding, Motors and Automatic Control

2- Admission requirements

  • Vary according to the Vocational Education and Training Institution
  • Most of them focus on students who have completed the basic stage of education (tenth grade) and are between the ages of 16-20 years.

There are short courses on demand in these centers to develop the skills of workers in the profession and the unemployed or according to the target group.

3- Possibility of completing education

  • Industrial schools that train through the applied or industrial guidance system
  • Vocational training centers that can hold courses that qualify students to apply for the guidance

Those who have completed the vocational guidance can complete their education in colleges and applied universities. Those who have not completed the vocational guidance through their institution can apply for it through private study two years after graduation and work in the profession (some institutions hold qualifying courses to apply for the exam). However, the certificate obtained from these centers qualifies its holder to work as a professional in the labor market without the need to complete his/her studies.
