1- Description of the profession, the competencies required for the labor market and the required skills:

1- Description of the profession: (which the graduate will practice upon graduation from vocational education and training institutions)

There are many jobs and professions related to the specialization or specializations of computers and networks, as they include computer maintenance and computer networks as follows:

Computer maintenance:Following up on the executive and electronic plans of the computer, connecting the components of the device, downloading the operating programs for operating the computer, and operating them according to the guides, and connecting the device to other office devices (printer, fax, scanner...), downloading various computer programs, implementing preventive maintenance programs for the computer according to the instructions of the manufacturer, diagnosing computer malfunctions using measuring and testing devices, and repairing, adjusting, calibrating, and restarting them.
Computer networks: Following computer network installation plans according to the guides, downloading programs for operating the networks, and operating them according to the guides, following electronic plans for computer networks, identifying service points, and implementing preventive maintenance programs for networks according to the manufacturer's instructions, diagnosing their faults using measuring and testing devices, and repairing, adjusting, calibrating, and restarting them. And applying occupational safety and health procedures.

2- The competencies required to perform these tasks: (The competencies and skills that are trained in educational and vocational training institutions to be able to practice the profession according to the description above)
To perform the previous tasks, computer network workers need to obtain the competencies of knowledge, skills and directions necessary for that, starting from general competencies in the field of computers, their use and programs, competencies in the field of using and tracking directories and the ability to diagnose, maintain and download programs, to specialized competencies in the field of the ability to deal with operating systems and Office programs in addition to the ability to diagnose and maintain computers, build computer networks and program network devices and build server and client networks in addition to the ability to diagnose and repair networks and build networks, and they need knowledge of the tools and equipment used and general safety procedures. English language skills, especially those related to the profession, and the use of manuals, catalogs and specifications related to computers, and skills in using computer programs specialized in various types of computers: specialized in: (network maintenance, programming, computer use, computer maintenance). And some necessary life skills and character building to carry out the required tasks and the competencies that enable him to carry out the work mentioned in the description of the profession (which are the qualifications required for the labor market), in addition to mastering the modern technology skills that the labor market needs, and the entrepreneurial and administrative skills necessary to open his own project. These skills and competencies are acquired through education and vocational training that the trainee receives in vocational education and training institutions.

2- Work environment, workplaces and the possibility of professional development:

1. Workplaces

Computer companies
In computer departments of medium and large establishments (governmental, civil, private) in the health, education, services, and other sectors

The possibility of starting as an electronic assistant for computer maintenance/or networks after graduation, and the period varies according to previous experience and the ability to develop, and then work electronically for computer maintenance/or networks, and it is possible for his/her work to develop over time to become a specialized electronic technician for computer maintenance/or networks with experience, and in medium and large workshops it is possible to develop to work as an electronic supervisor for computer maintenance/or networks, and many professionals in the specialty create their own work. Income develops and doubles according to development, gaining experience and demonstrating the ability to develop, and this is what distinguishes a graduate of a vocational education and training institution from someone who joins the labor market without a profession.

In addition, income and employment are linked to the general economic situation, but statistics showed a high ability for vocational graduates to find work or open their own business.

3-Qualification for the profession: (training locations, forms, admission requirements, and the possibility of completing education)

1- Places for training in the profession:

Some centers provide training in computer maintenanceonly, others add networks to them, and others in computer networks only, which qualifies graduates of each of them to work in different fields.

2- Admission requirements

Vary according to the vocational education and training institutions
Most of them focus on students who have completed the basic stage of education (tenth grade) and are between the ages of 16-20.

There are short courses on demand in these centers to develop the skills of workers in the profession and the unemployed or according to the target group.

3- Possibility of completing education

Industrial schools that train through the applied or industrial guidance system
Vocational training centers that can hold courses that qualify students to apply for the guidance

Those who have completed the vocational guidance can complete their education in colleges and applied universities. Those who have not completed the vocational guidance through their institution can apply for it through private study two years after graduation and work in the profession (some institutions hold qualifying courses to apply for the exam). However, the certificate obtained from these centers qualifies its holder to work as a professional in the labor market without the need to complete his/her studies.
